Gone were the days when business support meant secretarial services that were limited to typing, transcribing and filing of memos and office correspondences. It used to be a fairly simple affair but times have changed and services that tend to support business activities now include desktop publishing, internet research, spreadsheet design, word processing, tape transcription, notarial services, check preparation, billing services, bookkeeping, database management and more.

It is no wonder that an association of secretaries found it appropriate to change their name to something more attuned to the times. They now call themselves as Association of Business Support Services International.
